Helmed by acclaimed chef, restaurateur and cookbook author Art Smith, Southern Art combines a modern, urban eatery with classic Southern charm, offering a fresh take on Southern-inspired cuisine in a warm, relaxed atmosphere.

Embracing farm-to-table and regional cooking, Southern Art utilizes the freshest ingredients from local farms to celebrate the South. In addition, guests can peruse delectable house-made desserts from a vintage pie table from which classics such as bourbon pecan pie, 12-layer red velvet cakes, mockingbird cake with crushed peaches and Georgia pecans, and banana pudding are served.

Bourbon Bar

Bourbon Bar serves as both a meeting place for after-work and post-dinner gatherings in a convivial, friendly atmosphere. The Southern-inspired bar features a well-cultivated selection of American bourbon distillers, focusing on small-batch producers and featuring Four Roses, a select bourbon available only at Bourbon Bar through an exclusive agreement.

In addition to more than 70 bourbon offerings, guests can sip on an array of cocktails which showcase distinctive twists on American classics from the pre-Prohibition era that are available only in the bar.

Ham Bar

Further embracing Southern culinary traditions, Southern Art features an artisan ham-and-charcuterie bar to showcase the strong craft and long-standing traditions of regional country hams. Featuring more than 14 different hams from across the South including Caw Caw Creek, Friendly, Olli and Surryano, guests are able to choose from smoky, salty, dry, sweet and soft-textured custom cuts.

Served alongside house-made mustards, jams and toast, a selection from our Ham Bar is an excellent way to begin a meal at Southern Art and the perfect pairing to a Southern cocktail from the adjacent Bourbon Bar.

As the executive chef and visionary behind Southern Art and Bourbon Bar, chef Art Smith loves the idea of bringing people together through food. It's partly what made him the success he is today. 

Art Smith has received the culinary profession's highest awards and has cooked for some of the world's most famous celebrities. In 1997, Smith became the personal, day-to-day chef to Oprah Winfrey, a position that lasted ten years.

Smith is the author of four award-winning cookbooks: Back to the Table; Kitchen Life: Real Food for Real Families; and Back to the Family. He contributed recipes and cooking advice to The Spectrum, the newest book by ground-breaking cardiologist and New York Times bestselling author Dr. Dean Ornish. In May 2013 his latest cookbook was released, Art Smith's Healthy Comfort, with a focus on healthy cooking and healthy living.

Several of the most enduring cocktails ever created were inspired in bars nestled in some of America’s most beautiful and historic hotels. The base of these cocktails is one of America’s oldest and most distinctive traditions, whiskey.

As Europeans immigrated to our country; they brought with them their skill in distilling grain into beer and malt liquor. These farmers, statesmen and businessmen soon discovered that barley and rye was too expensive to ship overseas and somewhat difficult to grow in the south. They also discovered thousands of uses for our native grain, corn, namely that it made delicious whiskey when expertly crafted. Over the years, these patriots, young and old, drafted rules governing their special spirit’s production methods while still allowing creativity and distinction between each distiller’s craft.

It is with all of this rich history in mind that we imagined the Bourbon Bar. We hope you will settle in and stay for a while as you sip your way through some of our carefully selected Bourbons and Craft American Whiskies or try one of our many hand-crafted signature cocktails.
